Jesus Christ, the Mighty God

Few of us in America would confess to our lives being overpowered by someone stronger than ourselves. We live to think that we are autonomous, self-directed and free individuals. While this may hold true in some sense in the political realm, in the spiritual realm this is hardly the case. Spiritually, men and women serve one lord or another: either we are the servants of iniquity unto uncleanness and destruction under Satan, or we are the slaves of righteousness unto glory and honor under Jesus Christ. Are we really free to serve whom we choose? Or must the Almighty One overpower the under-lord in order to set us free? What does the Bible say about liberty?
