MAY DAY: Why We Work Hard
Series Christian Living
This sermon rebuts the presupposition of May Day and Labor Day. This sermon examines a whole host of humanistic reasons for working hard - and finds them wanting. Humanism is the view that man is the be all and end all. It is NOT theistic at all, and in fact, finds a theocentric worldview abhorrent. It believes that man is the center of all things – and that man through his own reason and through science determines what is right or wrong, good or bad. As Christians, we do NOT believe that man is the be all and end all – we are not motivated to do and act based upon "myself" – but rather, based upon what GOD says. I don’t believe in myself – I believe in Him. Therefore, I want my life to be conducted according to His law and Word.
So why do I work hard?
