The Threat of Prosperity

We live in a Laodicean age. Everywhere one looks in Christendom, men heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears. All to often we turn a deaf ear and a hardened heart to the rebuke and reproof that is needful, but perhaps difficult to endure. Today, as in the time of Amos, we must guard our hearts against the subtle enemies of comfort and prosperity.
