What God Is Building

1 Peter 2 Part 2: If what we teach or hear is not Christ centered, then we have missed the point. We must come to Jesus the living Stone. If we are growing in Christ, we ought to be growing towards Him. Jesus had a large crowd of followers until they found out that He would not do what they wanted Him to do. Jesus showed the truth and He is alive. If we are in Christ, we are being built into something by God. God has a plan for your life if you are in Christ and God will mold us whether we resist Him or not. We should not kick against the goads, it is not wise to resist God. God will build His followers into something beautiful. God decides which people He will build, that is put together. God decided to place together the tax collector (who worked with the government) and a zealot (who wanted to overthrow the government) as two of Jesus’ disciples. God will place together whoever He decides. When God dwells in His people, He has made the spiritual house in which He dwells. The thing that make us acceptable to God is that it is through Jesus Christ, through Him we are made beautiful. If we trust in Jesus Christ, God determines the outcome. It is not enough to believe that the gospel is true, we must place our trust in Jesus. If we are saved, when we sin, it should bother us because it grieves the Lord. If you are worried about salvation, go to the cross. We are not to trust what we do, even in the name of Jesus. The only way to be saved is by Jesus, He saves us in new birth. We may not like the sovereignty of God, but that doesn't make Him less sovereign.
