Here Am I, Send Me

314

Isaiah's experience is suggestive of the Christian experience in general. We move from being undone to being sent on God's mission. As RC Sproul says, “God appears, people quake in fear, God forgives and heals, God sends.” (Holiness of God)

  1. We are taught of God's nature and how to respond to Him.
  2. the source of life and forgiveness is God.
  3. Jesus links this prophecy to the parable of the sower for another purpose. Just like Isaiah who continued to preach, the sower still scatters the seed.
  4. What God calls us to do, he makes us ready to do. Calvin, “Now, this remarkable instance of obedience ought to produce such an effect on our minds that we shall readily and cheerfully undertake any task which he may be pleased to enjoin, and shall never refuse any task, however difficult we may imagine it to be.”
