Holy, Holy, Holy

Isaiah's vision answers one question, “Why was God judging Judah?” and it poses a second question, “How, then, can anyone be saved?”

1. Why was God judging Judah? Because He is holy and Judah was not. Why is Jesus coming again to judge? Because He is holy and we are not.
2. How then, can anyone be saved? Isaiah, and all men, are 'undone' in the presence of the Holy God. Ps. 130:3, “If you Lord, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand?” But God took initiative and purged Isaiah's sins by a coal from the altar, representing the atoning sacrifice of Christ.
   Conclusion: Isaiah's experience brings hope to mankind. His vision speaks of the triumph of grace. 'All we like sheep have gone astray, we have turned each one to his own ways. But the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.” By grace, you who are dead in your trespasses and sin, undone before the holy one of Israel, by the grace of God in Christ you have been saved, through faith in Jesus Christ who has cleansed you from all unrighteousness
