2Cor017 Preaching is the Solution

In verses 3-4, Paul outlined a problem and a cause. The problem was that the gospel is veiled to the perishing and the cause is Satanic blinding. A natural question to ask is whether this cause, Satanic blinding, leaves sinners without hope of gospel salvation. In verses 5-6 Paul sets forth the solution to this spiritual problem in the plain preached word (verse 5) and divine illumination which accompanies plain preaching (verse 6). Not only is Paul's confidence rooted in God's illuminating work, but also in the divine mode of revealing His gospel, the face of Jesus Christ.
