Knowing Satan's Devices

55

As we continue our study of Life Principles, we will look at our enemy. Paul encourages us "not to be ignorant of Satan's Devices." First we begin by looking at devices-that which is thought out. We recognize Satan has a well thought out plan. His desire is to be like the most high. He is attempting to do this by marring God's creation. Also, he is challenging God for authority in men's lives. We see how Satan is being effective in this area. He has convinced many to reject God. He has caused men to come to the point where they do not like to retain God in their knowledge. In order to understand Satan's devices, we will look at 2nd Corinthians 2:8-11. In this text, Paul asks this church to forgive. He asks them to forgive the one mentioned in 1st Corinthians 5:1. He asked them to forgive so the one is not overtaken with overmuch sorrow. If they do not forgive, Satan can get advantage. We also look at Satan's greatest device. He loves using 1/2 truths. We see when Satan began utilizing this tactic. He began in the garden. He identified the weakest vessel. He attacked one who was not sure of the truth. He manipulated the truth. We look at 2 proverbs which warn us about the deceit of Satan. Proverbs 23:31/32 & Proverbs 5:3. We also relate how Satan works so that we only look at the immediate situation, without looking at the long term circumstances. Finally, we see how Satan works to convince men to remove God from their knowledge. Also, we see how the word sin is falling into disuse. This word is being removed from the Oxford Junior Dictionary from Britain. Also, we see how Satan uses divide and conquer. We see his attack on families and communties
