"Before faith came " (3:23) Israel under the Law, as well as each of us, were like under age, minor children being disciplined and prepared to receive Christ. Now "that faith has come" (3:25) the believer's status is that of a full grown son. This change is like unto a Christian bar mitzvah. The little kid, spiritually speaking, becomes a adult son with the liberties and privileges of sonship.
