Why Is Everyone on Edge?

When a socially hybrid society can't hide its threatened spirit...

Defensive people push... those who are threatened rarely ever lead in the right direction (Jeremiah 48:30).

Favor with God means favor from God — and that kind of favor is not threatened by problems or people.

We're walking through Amos and we see a society depleted of truth wallowing in their mire like a overstuffed and oversized hog. Amos preview God's last ditch warnings to a society on the brink of total ruin and destruction. And in Amos 4 we see on five occasions that God reveals what He did to get their attention to correct a wayward people: (Amos 4:6-11) "Yet you have not returned to Me, says the Lord."

These are direct works of God are manifestations of Leviticus 26 being brought to light and the cycles that God brings His people through — to reveal their wayward and backsliding hearts.

We look at Israel, Saul and David in this message when they faced Goliath.

Terror and fear and misery... they have a way being a three cord bond that's not easily broken.

Beyond popular belief, sometimes the three are a grace gift to reveal a waywardness within the hearts and lifestyle of those that bear the name of God. Remember this... ignorance is not your friend. Well, let me qualify that, being ignorant of God, His irreplaceable word and His kingdom ways is not your friend.
