Spiritual Ignorance

Ignorance is often a condition that exists because we are committed to a path that does not include gaining the needed knowledge. Our spiritual ignorance is offensive to the God who has revealed Himself to us with His creation, His Word and in the person of His Son. But God is merciful to us and He Himself changes us and removes our ignorance by giving us a new nature. He also gives us the indwelling of the Holy Spirit and by warming our hearts and enlarging our minds to understand, allows us to learn and trust Him. Our response to those around us who are still trapped in ignorance should be a display of that same compassion and mercy, even as we proclaim the command to repent.
