Sanctuary

Jeremiah tells us that there is a glorious throne set on high that is the place of our sanctuary. The throne suggests, for vile sinners, a grave danger of judgment, however, the prophet declares it a place of sanctuary, a refuge from danger. This is a glorious throne because of the mercy of God, Jesus came to redeem sinners and become their sanctuary from the wrath of God. He has been raised and seated on that throne at the Father's right hand.
