Humbled hearts

Have we yet been humbled by the things that we face as individuals, families, and societies? It is God's method to empty us in order that he might fill us.

In Psalm 116:6, the psalmist offers a humble confession and a grateful testimony. The confession is that "I was brought low": he came to the point where he could find no help in himself or any other creature. The testimony is that "he saved me": God helped him when he could not help himself.
