# 56 John 3 vs 5 Is water baptism necessary for salvation Pt 2

We continued on the teaching of the conditions of salvation. Many think and believe that they got saved when they were water baptized and thus make it a necessary CONDITION of salvation. And we say no, because all that is required of salvation was met in Christ and Christ alone. But we looked at:

1. John 3 vs 5, Mark 16: 16, 1 Peter 3:21 and Acts 2:38 and expounded what they mean. It is careless to just see the words water or baptize and then immediately think or assume water is what accomplishes or brings about eternal realities.
2. Without understanding the gospel we cannot understand water baptism. IF we continue water baptism for salvation then it means we do not understand the gospel.
