Selfishness of Abner

To be selfish means you are devoted only to self. Here Abner appears to be motivated to make Saul's last son king in order to keep his job. When questioned about his actions Abner's selfishness flared up. He wasn't focused on right and wrong only himself. He knew he had the power and he would use it as he pleased.
