Jesus and His Apostles Mistaken for John the Baptist (16 of ?)

120 ( 17 | 103 )

Sermon: GUILT STRICKEN HEROD BELIEVES JESUS IS JOHN BAPTIST

In this message we see the confusion among those opposing the Lord Jesus and His ministry. Jesus had commissioned and enabled his disciples to do signs and wonders.

When the reports of these came became known there was confusion over who was doing what. This is epitomized by Herod who was convinced that these signs were related to John the Baptist being brought back to life. Of course this wasn't the case, but demonstrates Jesus unique ministry from John and the affect of a guilty conscience on Pilot.

Points:
I. The Expansion of Jesus’ Ministry (12-14a)
II. The Confusion over Jesus’ Ministry (14b-16)
III. The Memorial of John the Baptist’s Death (17-29)
