Super Baal/Ra Pagan Holiday? Well… yes, but we jokingly call it a High Holy Day

280

Last Sunday pastor Chronister connected Adam with Moses; Adam’s sacrifice for the Woman Eve, and Moses’s sacrifice for the Woman Israel. Then you can also make the case, very easily, that in type this is Christ sacrificing Himself for all of us. In the following Sunday’s pastor will connect the shepherd king David, who slays the beast Goliath, with the Shepherd King Christ, who will slay the beast Anti-Christ.

Our pastor loves to connect these kinds of things to give us a clearer picture of Christ from both the Old and New Testament. Here’s an example… Pastor asks if David weeps at Gethsemane, who does he weep for? He weeps for Absalom in 2 Samuel 15:30, and for Saul. And Christ weeps for Israel and the lost in Matthew 26:36-46. So now your job is to find out what other man is going thru the same thing, portraying Christ at Gethsemane. This ‘Let this cup pass…’ is a picture of what is going on in the Eternal Godhead between the justice of God and the mercy of God.

Then he goes on to talk about the Mount of Olives, Christ’s ascension and dissension place. Why is this spot so important to Him? That takes you to Proverbs 30:4, the great question of Agar, descending and ascending. And then you need to look at Genesis 28:10-12, Jacob’s ladder, ascending and descending.

But wait, there’s more… What about Noah?

Is this stuff easy?

Okay, I think that gives you an idea of what this sermon is about. Pastor gives you new pictures of what the Bible is saying. And we hope this lecture will help broaden your mind as to what Christ, as part of the Godhead, is doing.

Alright… it’s time to open your TextBook, get out your notepad, and… press play.
