Since it was released, 'The Da Vinci Code', has sold more than 4.5 million copies. In bold letters, in an introduction before the story begins, is a claim: 'All descriptions of artwork, architecture, documents, and secret rituals in this novel are accurate.' What follows is an intriguing fictional story constructed around what the author has asserted is undeniable fact.

One of these 'undeniable facts' is that there was a conspiracy by the Church to squelch other ancient accounts as it was decided which books to include in the Bible

But does this novel reveal secrets long hidden, or perpetuate theories that have long ago been debunked? After centuries of debate, questions still abound about the Bible, its accuracy and authority; about who Jesus was; about the inner workings of the church.
