Does the Christian Obey the Law?

As we move into the latter half of Leviticus, we move from laws relating to sacrifice, atonement and right worship, to laws governing personal holiness and how Israel will be constituted under the rule of a Holy God.

This raises significant questions for the Christian. How am I to consider Old Testament law? The New Testament makes clear that no one is justified by the law, but does that mean the law has no moral authority over the life of a Christian?

This overview points out that the true believer having been converted, has a desire for holiness and a hunger for righteousness and finds direction for life in the moral will of God, revealed in God's moral law.

We are indeed under the law of Christ - but a consideration of Jesus own teaching will reveal that he has not nullified the moral authority of the law.
