Walking by Faith, Not by Sight: Baptists v. Pentecostals
657
We are to walk by faith, not by sight; that means we are to place complete and absolute trust in one thing alone; and that one thing is the revealed Word of God -- to the exclusion of any experience or circumstance that comes into our life.
We are not to trust our experience or circumstance because (1) the devil can produce both of those to deceive us, and (2) God can produce both of those to test us, as in the story of water from the Rock in Numbers ch. 20, as expounded in this message.
The message begins with a review of Baptist distinctive doctrines that all derive from the primary and foundational doctrine of the SOLE AUTHORITY OF THE SCRIPTURES, which then is the theme of the entire message.
