Christ, the Hope of the Nations

35

In his final thoughts in the Epistle of Romans, Paul declares that Jesus is the hope of the nations, and Paul in not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ. The relationship and contrast between Jews and Gentiles permeates the entirety of the epistle; however there is but one redeemer for both Jews and Gentiles. Christ came to show forth the truthfulness of God’s character, and he confirms the promises made to the patriarchs: Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. The fulfillment of these promises is accomplished in Christ by the ingathering of the Gentiles from all corners of the world to become participants in the larger covenant family of Israel.
