When God Says No

In this sermon, the argument is made that the thorn in the flesh was not Paul's sinful nature, or a besetting sin, but rather a painful physical problem in his body. Eight arguments are given.

What do you do when God says "No" in response to your prayers that pain be removed from you? Most people curse God and die. They get mad at God and reject Him. They may sink into depression. They may commit suicide. This is the broad road to destruction that most people walk. On the other hand, there are those who have been touched by God's grace, like Paul, who embrace God's "no" answer and they cheerfully boast in thier weaknesses. How do they do this? Grace. "My grace is sufficient for you." It is a miracle, contrary to human nature, and it happens every time a Christian embraces the thorns God has given him or her.
