The Judge of the Whole Earth On Trial

Our Lord underwent two trials at the hands of sinners: first He faced the ecclesiastical court of the Hebrews, and second the civil court of the Romans. In these verses we read of this second trial before the Judean governor Pontius Pilate. In this dark hour we see Pilate caving into the fear of men to the neglect of the fear of God. But in this hour we also see everything unfolding according to the plan of a Sovereign God.
