The Firstfruits of the Resurrection

Christ claimed to be the Messiah, many were looking to him as a political deliverer. He openly declared however that He was also a Spiritual deliverer- one who would free us from the penalty of our sin. Christ was the first-fruits of the resurrection in that, unlike other Biblical characters who resurrected only to die again, He did not die again.
