GOD Hates Pride

Proverbs 6:16-19

Amos 4:2 says, “The Lord GOD hath sworn by his holiness, that, lo, the days shall come upon you, that he will take you away with hooks, and your posterity with fishhooks.”

Isaiah 45:23 says, “I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return.”

Isaiah 62:8 says, “The LORD hath sworn by his right hand, and by the arm of his strength.”

1. GOD JUDGED THEM FOR THEIR PRIDE
   Leviticus 26:18, 19; Psalm 10:2-4; Proverbs 16:18

2. GOD JUDGED BOTH THE GREAT AND THE LITTLE
   2 Timothy 3:1-5; Luke 1:51; Psalm 75:10.

Amos was warning the nation of Israel, but they were “at ease in Zion” (6:1).
They thought the day of reckoning was “far away” (6:3).

First Peter 5:5 says, “Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.”
