    Memory verse: Joshua 1:8
Directions: Read the verses and then answer the questions:
Day 1: Josh 1:2-5, Heb 6:11-15, Psa 33:11, Prov 19:21. Why is it important not to connect our calling to earthly leaders? How can this be a challenge to our faith? What benefit is it to us knowing that God's purposes are immutable in these changing times?
Day 2: Josh 1:5, 9, Deu 31:6-8, Matt 28:20, Heb 13:5-6, Luke 12:4-5, Phil 1:21, 1Joh 4:3-4. What were the two commitments God made with Joshua? What commitment does Christ make with us? Should the believer be afraid if obedience means the loss of his life? What confidence did John give regarding who was greater? Why would this be hard to recognize in the face of adversity?
Day 3: Josh 1:6-9, 1 Cor 15:57-58, Ps 31:24. How should the believer be living in light of the final victory that Christ claimed? Why do you think that it is easier to "hunker down" rather than abound in the work of the Lord? What does it mean to observe? What does it mean to mediate on God's Word? Why is it a poor strategy to give more attention to the ways of the enemy in spiritual warfare than to pay attention to the Word of God?
