Your Spiritual Heritage

Repetition is the best teacher known to mankind. There is one word in the New Testament that is repeated 24 times within 40 verses, and that word is "faith." In Hebrews, chapter 11, the word "faith" is repeatedly used by the author to drive home the truth that God has always called his people to walk by faith, not by sight. The alternative is to draw back, to shrink back to human resources we can see and control just as anicent Israel did with their idols. Money, sex, religiosity, and power are common lures which draw us away from a life of faith which glorfies and honors God. We must resist this temptation and choose rather to walk by faith, to the preserving of the soul.
