End of old begins the New

After Resurrection came Pentecost. Here John shows how the momentous event puts an end to the Old and ushers in the New. The Jews had broken the Covenant and now were to face the wrath of the risen Messiah dramatically in AD70. These were the last days of Jerusalem, the last generation that Christ spoke of. From this the Church was born in a New Covenant not unlike the Old. John outlines the Kingly covenant & shows how this is applicable for the NT Church. Then outlines the New community of the Church.
