One Thing Necessary

The lesson before us is recorded in the last story which closes the 10th chapter of Luke. The setting is the home of Mary and Martha of Bethany, a village in the shadow of Jerusalem. Luke focuses on the way these two women relate to Jesus in worship and service. Both were doing right thing, but Martha, in her service, became distracted in her devotion to Jesus. In this distracted state, she complained to Jesus and requested that He intercede and get Mary to help her. Jesus gently rebuked her by showing that Mary chose the good part, which He would not take from her. How do you show your love and service to Jesus?
