The Heart Cry of the True Christian

If you are a maturing Christian, as these Christians were in our text, you will have a heart cry to receive and to keep “all the words of this life”, that have been given to you by the Apostles in the Bible. Your heart will especially cry out to the Living God, the Risen Living Christ, for these 3 things. 1st of all - That you might be faithful to bring the physically and spiritually sick and tormented people that you know, to Jesus and to His ministers that they might be healed and saved. (verses 14-16) 2nd – That you might be faithful to pray for the strength of God's ministers to face the oppositions of wicked religious men. (verses 17 and 18) And 3rdly – That you might be faithful to pray that God's ministers would continue to be able to preach, and that you would continue to support them by your attendance upon their teaching. (verse 19-26) These 3 prayers comprise the heart cry of the true Christian. It is that they might be faithful to God's word and to men's souls.
