Credentials

Paul's CREDENTIALS in writing to Romans :

1. SERVANT OF CHRIST

   • "slave" = servant
   • not harszhly enforced laborer
   • Christ came as a servant
   • Paul's idea of "slavery" = not what
     you are subjogated to, but what you
     willingly give your service to

2. CALLED AS AN APOSTLE

   • sent/commissioned directly by God
   • doctrine was taught/revealed to them
     by Christ himself
   • given authority over the Church
   • given signs to validate their calling

3. PROCLAIM THE GOSPEL

   • Promised by the prophets
   • Plan from the beginning
   • Concerns Christ! - his resurrerction
     decalred his eternal Sonship of God
   • Resurrection proved Jesus' deity,
     sinlessness, accepted redemptive work
