(16) God Is Powerful; so Trust Him!

Saul's conversion is a major turning point in the story the book of Acts is telling. Not only has God claimed his primary missionary to bring the gospel to the Gentiles, he has also put out the fires of Saul's persecutions. In fact, that's why our text can begin as it does: "Now as Peter went here and there among them all, he came down also to the saints who lived at Lydda" (32). Peter is ministering to the churches because Paul is no longer persecuting God's people.

The two accounts of Peter's healing ministry teach this theme: "God is powerful; so trust him!"
