The Shed Blood of Jesus Christ

It is a gruesome thing to witness the sacrifice of an animal and the shedding of its blood. If we were to rate the videotaping of such an act we would give it an R (restricted) and V (graphic violence) rating.

The sight generates a number of questions (specially in a non-agricultural society).  Why does something so violent and gruesome as a religious act have to be done?  Is there not another way?  How can this bloody scene be ordained by a holy and loving God?  The answer lies in the pages of the Word of God, and it is understood only as we understand the Holiness of God.
