The Blessings of God's Promises
Series Studies in Hebrews
29
This seventh chapter of Hebrews is an anointed review of the actions and the background of the strange man, Melchisedec, to whom Abraham paid tithes. Melchisedec was a king of righteousness, a king of Salem, a prince of peace, and most importantly he was the priest of God. But as amazing as this man appears it must never be forgotten that above all else he is a type of our dear savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. Our hope, our refuge, is not Abraham, it is not Melchisedec, but it is entirely in Christ the beloved Son of the Father.
