Comedy in John 9?

Beginning with the disciples' ridiculous theological question in John 9:2 concerning why a man was born blind this story is laced with what could be considered humorous events. After a blind man makes his way across Jerusalem with mud in his eyes this story culminates with this same man asking the religious leaders if they want to become Jesus' disciples, too!
