The Anointed One

In stark and direct contrast to the Apostle Peter's misconceptions concerning his correct profession that “Jesus is the Christ”, all true Christians everywhere must recognize and rejoice in the fact that Christ has been ordained by God the Father and has been anointed with the Holy Spirit to be our Chief Prophet and Teacher, our Only High Priest and our Eternal King (Heidelberg Catechism Lord's Day 12), and that as Christians by faith we share in this Three-Fold Office of The Anointed One.
