DANIEL'S INTERCESSION, PART 1
TEXT: Daniel 9:1-27

SUMMARY: Daniel chapter 9 is a record of Daniel's intercession for the sins of God's people Israel, and of the Lord's glorious promise of reconciliation by means of a coming Redeemer.

I. THE SIN OF THE PEOPLE, vv. 1-19.
A. Their Nature of Their Sin.

1. The sins that led them astray.
   —The sin of disregard for the narrow way.
   —The sin of ingratitude,
   —The sin of desiring what the world has to offer.

2. The sins that brought them into judgment.

3. The sins as reiterated by Daniel.

B. The Continuation of Their Sin.

1. The Babylonian mystery religion.
   —Its appeal to the Jews of Daniel's day.
   —Its endurance in the ages to come.
