The Noahic Covenant
Series Genesis
As the flood waters subside and Noah disembarks from the ark, he brings an offering—and a costly one at that—to the God of his salvation. Such sacrifice is not only an act of thankfulness, but of atonement as well, thus providing a gracious covering of sins until Jesus comes. This greatly pleases the Lord, who establishes a covenant with Noah and all creation, a covenant which highlights God's grace and promise to make all things new. Yet, despite the flood, mankind remains in a state of corruption that necessitates a proper exercise of justice, as well as a continual need of redemption. Holding fast to the promises of God and his charge to fill the earth with worshipers, Noah and his family play their part in the grand history of God's faithfulness and glory, a history of which we are a part, especially as we await the culmination of this age and the glories of the age to come.
