True Christianity Consists Very Much in the Affections of the Heart

Zeal is also spoken of, as a very essential part of the religion of true saints. This was a great thing which Christ had in view, in giving himself for our redemption: Tit. ii. 14. "Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works." And this was the great thing wanting in the luke-warm Laodiceans. (Rev. 3:15, 16, 19. )
