- THE HOLY SPIRIT AS RESTORER GOD
The Holy Spirit's participation in salvation is one of regeneration and applying the work of Christ.
a. The Holy Spirit applies the finished work of Christ by bearing witness. (Matthew 1:20-21)
i. The Holy Spirit is sent as a helper (as we bear witness)-v. 26a; [John 14:16-17 ESV]
ii. The Holy Spirit is sanctioned with the same authority as the Father& Son-v. 26b
• The Holy Spirit is the messenger of truth [John 16:13]
• The Holy Spirit is the representative of the Father. [Acts 2:33]
• The Holy Spirit is the witness of Christ. [Hebrews 2:3b-4]
iii. The Holy Spirit is the source of fruit in the believer's life. v. 27
