Doctrine of Scripture Week 3

In this final instalment on the Doctrine of Scripture we look at the process of translation, considering the various ways in which the original text must be interpreted in order to yield an accurate and understandable translation. We also take into account the question of what the translators choose to translate -- what is the original text? We ask what is the Textus Receptus and what role did it play in Bible translation; we consider the majority and critical text and explore the methods used in textual criticism to examine the various differences between one text and the next. Finally, we tell the story of the English Bible and consider whether there is a 'best translation' for everyone.
