Eastern Orthodoxy: Spiritual Death or Spiritual Life? Twin Sister of Romanism

693 ( 606 | 87 )

Eastern Orthodoxy teaches that man can attain salvation only through partaking what it calls “Sacred Mysteries.” They are also called “Sacred Sacraments.” Orthodoxy commands people to submit themselves to these mysteries that are performed on their behalf by the Orthodox Church. Indeed, Eastern Orthodoxy teaches that the only way to eternal life is through these “Sacred Mysteries.” With compassion for souls enslaved by the Orthodox Church, Richard Bennett and Brother Stuart who speaks Russian & has great understanding of the Orthodox system of religion explain the dangers of false teaching while giving the true message of salvation. It has been said that Eastern Orthodoxy is "Roman Catholicism without its papacy" and that is indeed an apt summary of its theology and practice. Some church historians make much of what is termed the "Great Schism" that occurred in the 11th century between the Western church (centered in Rome) and the Eastern church (centered in Constantinople).
