How the Context Helps Us Understand John 3:16

John 3:16 has been ripped out of the paragraph that it is in and the book of the Bible that it is in in order to supposedly stand on its own as a self evident summary of the entire canon of scripture. This should not be done. This verse is like any other verse. It has a context, and the context is crucial to understanding the meaning of this verse or any other verse.
