A Royal Wedding

This psalm records a joyous occasion. It is a wedding where the groom is described in great detail as he goes to bring his bride back to his home. This psalm could have been spurred by a royal wedding in Israel, but the psalm has all the overtones of being a Messianic psalm. The psalm describes the Messiah in all of his beauty. It challenges the bride which represents the ones who will be with Christ in his home. The psalm challenges the reader to see the beauty of Christ while reflecting that beauty with a loyalty to the king.
