The Lord's Church

In this message we look at the true church of Jesus Christ, as founded in Acts 2. The FOCUS of that new assembly was on their common salvation in Christ - they received Peter's message on the day of Pentecost and then revealed that internal commitment to Christ by being publicly baptized. Once they were added to the family of God (by faith) they showed their submission by being devoted to the truth of the apostles' teaching and to the trust that is required for fellowship, breaking of bread and prayer. Their FAITH produced reverence toward God's power, reciprocity with their belongings and reconciliation in their minds and meals. The spiritual FRUIT that resulted was the total adoration of God through praise, the respectful admiration from all the people as they observed God's work and the increase of new believers, day by day, of those who were being saved.
