Living Life Realistically

The Preacher, Solomon the King of Israel, wrote life lessons as the wisest man who ever lived apart from Jesus Christ. He told God's people how to live wisely in a world under the curse of God because of sin and among a fallen people.
Work with toils and difficulties is God's plan. God intends work to be enjoyed even though it is difficult. God also intends the benefits of work to be enjoyed. While God's people should not live for pleasure, they should have pleasure in their living. Realizing God gives work, benefits from work, and joy serves to encourage the believer to endure and keep at the tasks at hand. Also to be remembered is the temporal nature of the good and the bad as neither lasts forever and God is in control of the conditions, nature, and timing of every circumstance.
