The Thousand Years, Part 3: Millennial Purpose

We have been laying a foundation for understanding and correctly interpreting Revelation 20:1-6. In this message, we are looking at God's overall plan to redeem and restore that which was ruined in Adam's fall.

The key to God's plan is found in Genesis 3:15. The seed of the woman is the second man from Heaven, Jesus Christ, who came to destroy the works of the devil.

This work of the redemption of God's creation and the judgment on Satan for corrupting that creation was accomplished in Christ's death on the cross. Jesus died to suffer the curse of Adam's sin, but He was raised to triumph over death with new and eternal life.

All that is left is for His redeemed people to wait for the consummation. The question that remains is to determine why and how the premillennial earthly rule of Christ before the end is necessary at all.
