The Significance Of The Resurrection

92

The Christian religion stands upon the crucified, risen Christ. Without His death and resurrection, THERE IS NO SALVATION. The resurrection of Christ is not only fundamental to salvation, but it is also fundamental to a believer's assurance that Christ's work is complete, that righteousness is established and redemption is accomplished. Not only was Christ "delivered up for our trespasses", He was "raised for our justification" (Rom. 4:25). This is proof that all whom Christ represented, all for whom He lived and died shall be saved. His resurrection is the indispensable evidence of His completed work on their behalf. But in His resurrection there are two assurances given - one is given to all men without exception, and the other is given to all who believe the Gospel.
