The Deity of Christ (Pt. 1)

Scripture is clear . . . Jesus is God. This is revealed in both the Old and the New Testament. It is abundantly clear. Jesus is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob; the great IAM who spoke to Moses from the burning bush; the God who parted the Red Sea and led the children of Israel with a cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night; the God who created the universe ex nihilio. He is the divine Messiah, the Alpha and Omega, the Author and Perfector of our Faith, the King of kings and Lord of lords . . . this is the same God who became a man, lived a sinless life and died on our behalf . . . paying a debt He did not owe, paying a debt we could not pay.

Scripture is clear . . . the deity, death, and bodily resurrection of Jesus our Lord is central, is essential, to the Christian faith. To deny this doctrine of Jesus' deity is to deny Jesus and His Father. To deny this doctrine of Jesus' deity is to reject His grace and mercy. To deny this doctrine of Jesus' deity is to willingly accept an appointment with eternal condemnation.

In this sermon Dr. Fernandes clearly explains the scriptural teachings concerning the doctrine of the deity of our Lord and Savior, Jesus of Nazareth, the Second Person of the Trinity, God become a man.
