Jesus makes clear that His purpose for His coming was to save His people from their sins. To redeem those who see themselves as spiritually poor, prisoners to their sin, overwhelmed by their hopelessness, and expecting the judgement of God that they deserve. He did not come to give to help those who are spiritually proud, ok with their sin, believing they can do better on their own, and expecting God to bless them with temporal gain. Today is the day of salvation for anyone who is desperate for the salvation from their sins through the Person of Jesus Christ.
